Video rendering process appears frozen at 100 percent while FFmpeg continues encoding for 10+ minutes with no visibility | Users see 'Completed' in logs but process remains active with high CPU usage

Issue

The video rendering process appeared frozen at 100% completion while FFmpeg continued encoding the final video, with no progress feedback for users. This caused confusion as the system did not distinguish between the frame rendering phase and the subsequent encoding phase, leading to a perceived lack of progress.

Culprit

The monitoring system prematurely terminated progress tracking after the last frame was written to FFmpeg’s input, but FFmpeg’s encoding phase continued without visibility. Additionally, log parsing errors caused incorrect progress percentages to be displayed, and there was no mechanism to detect and report the ongoing encoding phase.

Solution

The monitoring system was updated to remain active during FFmpeg’s encoding phase, providing clear feedback that encoding was in progress. Log parsing was refined to accurately extract progress percentages, and conditional logic was added to explicitly detect and report the encoding phase. This ensures users receive accurate progress updates throughout the entire rendering process.
