Rebranding from squatted handle to skred.dev with automated content pipeline for 1000+ technical solutions | Includes Astro static site, tsParticles visual identity, and GitHub Actions automation

The project involved a complete rebranding of a portfolio from ‘moorghost’ to ‘skred.dev’ (Norwegian for avalanche) and the implementation of an automated content pipeline to scale technical issue solutions from zero to over 1000 entries. The solution leveraged Astro for the static site, tsParticles for visual identity, Python/ffmpeg for video processing, and GitHub Actions for multi-platform publishing automation.

Issue

The original portfolio brand ‘moorghost’ was unavailable on social media due to squatting, requiring a complete rebrand while preserving the existing dark Ayu Mirage aesthetic. Additionally, the content strategy needed to scale to support 1000+ technical issue solutions with automated publishing across YouTube, LinkedIn, and Twitter.

Branding Constraints

  1. The squatted handle prevented a consistent social media presence.
  2. The original name lacked connection to the ‘flow state coding’ philosophy.
  3. No available .dev domain was available for technical credibility.

Content Scaling Challenges

  1. Manual video production could not scale to 1000+ issues.
  2. No existing pipeline existed for transcription, thumbnail generation, or cross-platform publishing.
  3. The static site lacked dynamic content organization for technical solutions.

Solution

Rebrand Implementation

A new brand identity, ‘skred.dev,’ was chosen to represent momentum and flow state coding philosophy. The rebrand included:

  • A .dev domain for technical credibility.
  • Available social media handles.
  • A short, memorable, and non-corporate identity.

All brand references across the Astro components were updated, including the hero title, page metadata, navigation, and copyright notices.

Automated Content Pipeline

The solution implemented a fully automated pipeline to handle video recording, processing, and publishing:

  • Recording Workflow: Videos were batch-recorded in 50-100 session batches using a teleprompter, each covering 2-5 minute technical solutions.

  • Processing Automation: A Python-based pipeline integrated with ffmpeg to trim and normalize videos, generate transcriptions using Whisper, and create thumbnails with tsParticles.

  • Publishing Infrastructure: GitHub Actions workflows automated the publishing process, triggering on pushes to the main branch and handling video processing, site builds, and artifact uploads.

  • Content Site Architecture: Dynamic routing was implemented to organize and render technical issue content efficiently.

Visual Identity System

The visual identity was enhanced using tsParticles to create an avalanche effect, characterized by:

  • A dynamic particle system with 200 particles.
  • Color gradients between white and turquoise.
  • Physics-based movement simulating an avalanche.

Portfolio Enhancements

The portfolio was further refined with:

  • Updated skills section emphasizing the ‘flow state philosophy’ (e.g., ‘Problems reveal solutions through pure focus’).
  • Restyled contact call-to-action with a new theme and typography.
  • Portfolio cards restyled with a dark Ayu Mirage background and turquoise accents.

This approach ensured a scalable content pipeline, consistent branding, and maintainable technical solutions while preserving the portfolio’s design integrity.
