Automated upload system lacked dual-video generation and smart scheduling, causing upload collisions | Required 10-day advance scheduling with 24-hour spacing for paired horizontal/vertical videos

Issue

The video upload system lacked the capability to generate multiple video orientations (e.g., horizontal and vertical formats) and did not implement scheduling features for planned uploads. This resulted in inconsistent video outputs, collisions in upload schedules, and a lack of adherence to platform-specific guidelines for timing and spacing.

Culprit

The issue arose from the absence of a dual-video generation pipeline and a robust scheduling system. The system was designed to process only single video orientations, leading to missing paired versions. Additionally, there was no mechanism for scheduling uploads in advance or enforcing spacing between them, which caused inefficiencies and potential conflicts.

Configuration gaps also contributed to the problem, as there were no settings for orientation-specific formatting or scheduling parameters, resulting in inconsistent video quality and timing.

Solution

Smart Scheduling System

A scheduling system was introduced to manage upload timings and prevent conflicts. This system ensures that videos are scheduled in advance and spaced according to platform requirements, such as a minimum 10-day advance notice and a 24-hour gap between uploads. The system tracks scheduled times and synchronizes with the platform API to avoid collisions.

Dual Video Pipeline

The video generation pipeline was updated to create both horizontal and vertical video formats from the same source. This ensures that users receive consistent content in different orientations, with font sizes and other visual elements optimized for each format.

API and Configuration Updates

The system was configured to support scheduling features and dual-video generation. This included updating platform access scopes to enable scheduling capabilities and adding configuration options for orientation-specific settings and scheduling parameters.

Verification and Documentation

A verification process was established to ensure that the system correctly generates paired videos and schedules uploads as intended. Documentation was updated to reflect the new features and guide users through setup and usage.

By implementing these changes, the system now supports dual-video generation and advanced scheduling, improving content consistency and operational efficiency.
