Hardcoded binary segment system (CODE vs TEXT) prevents adding philosophical/reflective segments with custom voice, static images and no keystroke sounds | Required extensible architecture for new segment types

Issue

The video generation pipeline did not support philosophical or reflective content segments, which required distinct styling (e.g., a slower-paced voice, static image overlays, and exclusion of keystroke sounds). This limitation forced developers to either use inappropriate styling or manually edit videos.

Culprit

The system was designed with hardcoded logic for only two segment types (code and text), lacking extensibility for additional content types. This included no configuration options for new segment behaviors, no parsing support for custom segment delimiters, and no filtering for segment-specific effects like keystroke sounds.

Solution

A new segment type for philosophical content was introduced, supported by configurable environment variables and updated parsing logic. This included a dedicated voice model, slower speech speed, static image overlays, and exclusion of keystroke sounds. The system was extended to handle transitions between all segment types while maintaining backward compatibility.
