Issue
The automated video generation system produced documentation with mismatched excerpts and explanations. Explanations referenced code components (e.g., decorators, server instantiation) that were not visible in the displayed excerpts, leading to confusion and incomplete understanding. Additionally, critical code segments were being merged and hidden from the final output.
Culprit
The system generated explanations based on full code segments but created excerpts afterward, often showing only imports instead of complete functionality. Overly aggressive segment merging logic collapsed critical code (such as server setup and tool definitions) into single segments, rendering them invisible in the output.
Solution
The generation flow was reordered to create excerpts first, ensuring explanations matched the visible content. Segment merging logic was removed entirely to prevent hiding critical code. A smarter excerpting algorithm was introduced to display complete functions or relevant portions while maintaining accuracy and visibility of all code components.
