Issue
The video script generator produced repetitive opening hooks across scripts from the same topic. For example, all 16 scripts about FastMCP servers began with the identical hook: Getting started with FastMCP servers doesn’t have to be complicated. This monotony failed to engage viewers, as each script started identically, reducing perceived variety and retention.

\
Culprit
The system lacked contextual awareness across script generations. Each script was generated independently, with no memory of previously used hooks. The core issue was in the generation loop, where the LLM began fresh for each iteration without access to prior outputs, leading to identical pattern matching for similar topics.

Solution
A series-aware architecture was implemented to:
\
- Track previous hooks to prevent repetition. \
- Inject series context into the LLM prompt to enforce variation. \
- Extract hooks dynamically to ensure uniqueness. \
\
Key Improvements:
\
- Context Tracking: Maintained a record of previously used hooks and passed this context between iterations. \
- Dynamic Prompt Injection: Added series-specific instructions to the LLM prompt, requiring unique opening hooks for each script. \
- Hook Extraction Heuristic: Automatically detected and stored the first sentence of each script to enforce variation. \
This transformation ensured 100% unique opening hooks for scripts in the same series while maintaining backward compatibility and minimal performance overhead.
