Issue
The automated video generation system experienced progressive audio/video desynchronization after visual-only character clusters (e.g., (MCP)). While the TTS audio played correctly, the text animation lagged increasingly behind, resulting in severe misalignment where a 36-second audio clip corresponded to a 15-minute video. Users reported 180 timing overlap warnings during character extraction, with delays compounding exponentially.
Culprit
The issue stemmed from treating visual-only characters as speech events rather than pause-filling elements. The system inserted these characters with fixed durations, creating timing overlaps with subsequent spoken characters. The resolution algorithm, which adjusted each overlapping character forward, compounded delays exponentially, leading to cumulative timing errors.
Solution
A compression algorithm was implemented to replace cascading delays. Instead of shifting characters forward, visual-only characters now compress to fit available pauses between spoken characters. This approach:
- Resolves overlaps without propagating delays.
- Ensures visual-only characters occupy natural speech pauses without disrupting the primary timing sequence.
- Achieved perfect synchronization between audio and text animation.
This transformation eliminated the progressive lag, ensuring seamless alignment between audio and visual elements.
